A few years ago my wife and I traveled across southern England and visited the beautiful city of Bath. The Roman baths are spectacular and the Georgian architecture splendid.
The low angle of the afternoon light striking medieval Bath Abbey Church was so dramatic on that day. The shadows in the foreground seemed to frame it. I always wanted to try painting that scene and finally did.
In addition to the original, this painting is available in a limited edition run of 100 archival giclee prints.
