On a business trip to Kobe, Japan I had an afternoon free and decided to take the train over to Kyoto, one of the ancient captials of Japan.
Kyoto is famous for the number and quality of its ancient temples and shrines. It was a misty moody day when I arrived and I was so pleased to be able to see these grand wood structures. Because the weather was wet, there were likely fewer people that there would have been in the summer.
I feel this painting captures the twilight and mood of the place. I'd love to go back again, one afternoon was not nearly enough time to spend in this magical place.
In addition to the original painting for sale, I am offering a limited edition run of 100 archival giclee prints on 170gsm Eco Rag paper. Prints will be signed and numbered and sent with a certificate of authenticity.
